Haetae - Spoke Art 12th Annual Moleskine Show
Acrylic painting for Spoke Art's 12th annual Moleskine show. In Korea, Haetae 해태 is a mythological creature who is associated with justice and protects against fire and natural disasters. This is why you see statutes of it outside palaces and temples whose wooden structures are vulnerable to fire. It has a single horn, a bell around it’s neck, and is also the city mascot of Seoul. On view in San Francisco, January 11-25th 2024.
